At the entrance to the Serra da Estrela Natural Park you’ll find a house from the late 19th century, built by the Marquis of Gouveia as a gift for his wife. It impresses with its classical architecture and the grandeur of the stone it was built with. Surrounding the main house and the other three smaller ones, there is a huge woodland of around 16 hectares with an abundance of centuries-old oak and chestnut trees, 12 lakes, fountains and a chapel. Originally, it was part of the fence of the Jesuit Convent, built in the 18th century, now the Gouveia Town Hall. A historical nature that is impossible to remain indifferent to and that gives these houses a unique peace.
The large house has spacious living rooms, two utility rooms, a dining room with a table for 14 and a wine cellar in the basement, two bathrooms, a bedroom and an office. On the first floor there are three bathrooms, one of which was built two years ago, six bedrooms, two dressing rooms and a small living room with a pleasant balcony. All the bedrooms and living rooms have a fireplace. There is an area reserved for the housekeeping staff on the third floor. The roof was completely redone about five years ago. Casa dos Patos, the farm’s former rabbit hutch, is a house with two en-suite bedrooms on the first floor, one of which has a large balcony and a living room with a kitchenette, bathroom and office, as well as a porch for enjoying pleasant evenings. Casa da Cocheira, the old harness house above the stables, has been converted into a two-bedroom flat with two suites, a kitchen-living room and a veranda shaded by an imposing linden tree.
The chapel is one of the few chapels in Portugal where religious ceremonies can still be held. It is in an excellent state of repair. The old caretaker’s house is a house with great potential for restoration. All the houses are supplied by two water mines that are located within the property, but to ensure stable water pressure and to allow appliances to be connected to the houses, they are connected to the public water supply. The property presented is located in Gouveia, at one of its highest points, allowing breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys and mountains. Remember that it is part of the Serra da Estrela Natura Park.
The property presented is located in the Parque Natural da Serrada Estrela. The valuation of this property takes into account the current market values, to which the unique and exclusive characteristics of this property are naturally added, as well as the location and potential. The property has 14.5 hectares of land, where you can still find around 1 200m2 of buildings, with the main house being around 950m2 and the two holiday apartments around 80m2 each and two water springs. The property outside the flooded area has 20 hectares and a villa of around 160m2 to be built. The Gouveia MDP classifies this area as protected, allowing for an increase of around 10% in the building area inside the walled area.
